The Middle East is a beautiful continent where you can find diverse culture, beliefs, practices and religion. With its extravagant cities and breathtaking monumental sites, it is one of the best places for travellers to visit. 

Each country in the Middle East has its own charm, and it would take forever to describe how each nation is unique. You would need more than a month to be able to explore these beautiful places and soak in their culture. Petra, Jordan 

The country of Jordan is one of the most alluring places among travellers. Formerly known as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, Jordan holds many rare artefacts such as mosques, tombs, palaces, and temples made of pink-hued sandstone. One of the places in Jordan that will fascinate is the city of Petra or popularly referred to as the Rose City. 

When you visit Petra, you will be welcomed by a magnificent sandstone castle that spans across the huge rock formations. From afar, you will see the heritage site where you will notice the pink hues that appear on the crevices and edges. 

Inside Petra, you will see landmarks such as the Al-Deir Monastery, Al Khazneh temple, Colonnaded Street, Qasr Al-Bint and the Royal Tombs. Moreover, there are other places to visit that will attract you with their old-world charm. It is listed as a UNESCO heritage site. 

When you visit, plan your trip in peak season months such as March to May and September to November. 

Amadiya, Iraq

Another place you can visit in the Middle East is the Amadiya in Iraq. This Kurdish Village is located from the Turkish border where you can see a great view of verdant forests and majestic mountain ranges. Aside from its beauty, Amadiya is also rife with folklore and fascinating stories. 

According to myths, the village was the home of the three wise men who trudged the long walk to Bethlehem to see the baby, Jesus. Moreover, it’s also a place where you can find ancient structures and buildings. 

One of the places you can visit in this area is the magnificent Assyrian ruins and the fabled tomb of Ezekiel. The people in Amadiya are helpful and welcoming so you wouldn’t have a hard time if you want to learn more about it. However, if you plan to stay there are limited accommodations that you will find. The nearest is the Motel Kani and the Amedi Motel. 


It’s an undisputed fact that Dubai is one of the most progressive countries in the Middle East. With its luxurious cities and beautiful landmarks, Dubai is one of the places you should see at least once in your life. Every year, Dubai is thronged by millions of tourists in hopes to witness its bustling city life.
